Memories and moments from childhood play.
…
As children, we would amuse ourselves for hours amongst friends playing with strings.
There’s this magical freedom that children have yet to be stifled from ‘growing’ up. That little old rag doll that has been loved over and over for years and tears until one day it retires, a forgotten little heirloom, in a suitcase of special memories.
The magic of childhood is finding joy in the simple, tangible and skilful art of paper chain cutouts. I remember at primary school making the paper chain loops for Xmas decorations then you’d advance to the paper dolls. I thank the Japanese art of origami. Do you think this accelerated world of technology has denied children the appreciation of just cutting paper and the thrill of creating? Scissors or an iPad?
A celebration of all things woman.
